The places listed above are near my hometown of Roanoke, Virginia.
The first image is of Carvins Cove, which is a large, protected area of forest and hiking/biking trails around a man-made lake. This lake is where Roanoke receives much of its water.
The second image is from Cascade Falls, which is a waterfall at the end of a hiking trail in Blacksburg, Virginia. Very popular with Virginia Tech students!
The third image is of Mabry Mil. This mill still operates, and is one of the most photographed places along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It also houses a restaurant and gift shop on the grounds.
The final image is McAfee Knob, which is a popular hiking trail that culminates in this spectacular view overlooking the valleys below.
