Color Changer [Remixed in Pink]

For this assignment, I had to change the color hue of a picture. For this remix, I had to make the assignment more pink somehow.

Here is my original assignment:

and here is the remixed photo (slightly different angle):

To complete this assignment, I searched through the different assignments to find one I wanted to remix. I found this one, and chose ‘remix it’ and ended up with the ‘Pretty in Pink’ remix. I happened to notice that I had already done the original assignment as well. So, I downloaded a picture of the Empire State Building from Google, and opened it in my editing software (Fotor) on my Macbook. I changed the hue so that it was pink, and saved the picture. I then uploaded it to WordPress.

Bucket List [Remixed]

For this assignment, I had to create a collage of four different things that I have on my bucket list. For this remix, I had to add Waldo somewhere in the image.

To complete this assignment, I looked through my old posts to see which one I wanted to remix. I found the assignment above, and chose ‘remix it’ and the ‘Where’s Waldo’ remix came up first. I downloaded my original photo into photoshop, and downloaded a cutout of Waldo from Google. I then added Waldo into one of the pictures, and saved the image. I then uploaded the image to WordPress. This was a fun assignment, as I was able to look back at my old work, and remix something of my own.

Halloween Songs Mashup

Assignment (2 stars)

For this assignment, we had to find four songs that we could include in a mashup. The clips that we used could only be 2-3 seconds long. To incorporate my host character Edward Creeper, I chose his four favorite halloween songs that he plays year round. let me know if you can guess any in the comments!

To complete this assignment, I first found the four songs I wanted to use on YouTube, and used a YouTube converter to download them into iMovie. I then found the sections that I wanted to use in my mash up, and edited them appropriately. After that was finished, I saved the mashup as an audio-only file, and uploaded it to Soundcloud.

This Doesn’t Belong Here – Lion King and E.T.

Assignment (3.5 stars)

For this assignment, we had to mash up two iconic movie scenes. I chose to mash up a scene from the Lion King. and a scene from E.T. I chose these two scenes because I felt like they had some similarities, as both have an upward looking perspective.

To complete this assignment, I found the two images on Google that I used for the mash up. I then downloaded each of them into Photoshop. First, I had to cut out the Lion King’s image using the magnetic wand tool. This took me quite a while, as I had never attempted something like this before. I finally got it cut out the best I could, and then I copied the image onto the image of E.T. I had to make sure the background of the Lion King was transparent so that it would blend in with the other image. After these two images were combined, I uploaded the finished file to WordPress.

The Contest Nobody Could Win

Assignment (2 stars)

For this assignment, we had to create a mashup of six clips of our favorite movies. All of the clips had to be no longer than two seconds.

To complete this assignment, I chose six different movies that I had seen in the last few years, and downloaded their movie trailers into iMovie using a YouTube converter. I then watched each of the trailers to find the best parts to use for my mashup. I tried to make each clip somewhat recognizable so that hopefully they can be figured out by my fellow classmates. After I finished in iMovie, I uploaded the video to YouTube. If anyone wants to guess what the movies are, go ahead! I can put the answers in the comment section at the end of the week.

J.D. Scrubs Mashup

Assignment (3 stars)

For this assignment, we had to take a character from a TV show and mash together pictures and videos of them. I chose to mashup J.D. from one of my favorite shows, Scrubs. J.D. is one of the main characters, and is a doctor at Sacred Heart.

To complete this assignment, I first found several different pictures on Google, and clips on YouTube of J.D. to put into my mashup. I downloaded the clips using a YouTube converter, and edited them all together in iMovie. I then downloaded the Scrubs theme song (found here) and added it into iMovie. I then saved the movie, and uploaded it to YouTube

Week 11 Summary

This week was very busy for me, both in this class and outside of it. I was not able to complete the 4 star documentary assignment, unfortunately.

However, I completed the other 12 stars of video assignments, including the Redskins Pump-up Video, I am Edward, and the Dark Knight Chipmunk Style.

I commented on 10 different posts from Ds106, which I included in this blog post. I also completed my three daily creates, which I linked here.

This was another fun week working with video assignments, but the time got away from me a little quicker than I was expecting.

The Dark Knight Chipmunk Style

Assignment (3 stars)

For this assignment, we had to take a clip from a film and edit the audio in some way. I chose to edit a scene from the Dark Knight, as this is Edward Creeper’s favorite movie of all time. This scene is pretty classic, so I would assume most people have at least some recollection of what is going on. It is interesting to hear how everything sounds so much more different now, and how less threatening the Joker comes across.

To complete this assignment, I first found the clip I wanted to edit from YouTube (found here). I then used Nora’s tutorial to help guide me through the process of editing. I opened the clip in Audacity after downloading it using a YouTube converter, and used it to change the pitch of the voices (I set it to 50%). I then saved the the clip as mp3 onto my desktop. I opened the original clip in iMovie, and turned off the sound. I then added the new audio file into iMovie, and overlaid it on top of the clips so it would flow together. I then saved everything, and began the process of uploading it to YouTube.

Week 11 Daily Creates

This week I completed three daily creates.

I took a filtered selfie,

wrote a six-line poem,

and sketched my host character, Edward Creeper.
